Immunizations
CHOC Immunization Policy
As part of the CHOC Primary Care Network, our pediatric teams continue to provide evidence-based, individualized care and partner with families to answer questions and discuss what is right for each child. Learn about our immunization policy.
The CHOC Primary Care Network, part of Rady Children’s Health, holds fast to providing great medical care that has its roots in evidence based preventative medicine. As such, we see childhood vaccination as one of the greatest accomplishments in children’s health. Therefore, vaccinating our patients in a timely manner is of the utmost importance to our doctors and network.
We affirm that all children and young adults should receive the recommended vaccines according to the vaccine schedule published by the American Academy of Pediatrics. The recommended vaccines and their schedule are the results of years of scientific study following millions of child and adult patients to determine that the vaccines are both effective at preventing disease and safe in doing so. For information about these vaccines and the diseases they protect against, please visit https://www.aap.org/.
Vaccinating our patients appropriately may be the greatest health intervention that we do to keep our child and young adult patients healthy and safe.
Unfortunately, recent years have shown what inadequate vaccination rates can do to hurt children and adults. Therefore, our physicians are committed to vaccinating all our patients timely and appropriately.
